Mission:

The Grant County Sheriff’s Department is committed to protecting life, preserving peace, and serving our community with integrity, professionalism, and respect. We work in partnership with the public to uphold the law, enhance public safety, and provide fair, responsive, and accountable law enforcement services to all.

The Grant County Sheriff’s Office Drone Program supports public safety operations through the responsible use of an Autel Dual v2 unmanned aircraft system, acquired in 2021.
The drone is equipped with:
              • A high-resolution camera for detailed aerial imagery and video
              • FLIR thermal imaging to assist in locating people in low-light conditions or challenging terrain
              • A one-way speaker system that allows the pilot to provide directions or safety messages from the air
              • A spotlight for nighttime operations and improved scene visibility
Primary uses of the Drone Program include:
              • Search and rescue operations, including missing-person incidents
              • Assistance with locating individuals in remote, wooded, or low-visibility areas
              • Documentation of crime scenes, traffic crashes, and other major incidents
              • Aerial scene assessment to improve responder safety and operational awareness
The Drone Program provides deputies and emergency responders with timely aerial information while helping reduce the time, personnel, and risk involved in certain field operations. The Grant County Sheriff’s Office uses this technology in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and department policies, with a continued focus on public safety, accountability, and respect for individual privacy.
