Health Check
This health screening program is available for anyone younger than 21 years of age who has a valid Wisconsin Medical Assistance card.
Home Care
Clients receive professional care in their own home. The goal is to restore the client to an optimum level of health.
Hospice
This service provides care for terminally ill patients and their families.
Loan Closet
Wheelchairs, walkers, commodes, transfer benches, and other equipment are available for short-time use. A small deposit is required.
Public Health
This service promotes prevention or early detection of disease for individuals, their families, and the community. There is no charge for many public health services. Included are immunizations; follow-up of communicable diseases; health counseling; screening and safety programs; school and jail health; and environmental health services.
WIC
The Women, Infants and Children Program (WIC) provides food and nutrition information to help keep pregnant and breast-feeding women, infants, and children under five years of age healthy and strong.
Immunizations
Most insurers will cover the cost of vaccination, so if you have insurance, your vaccine will likely still be free and available through your healthcare provider or pharmacy. If you don’t have insurance or your insurance doesn’t cover vaccination, you most likely will be able to be vaccinated at the health department.
If you were vaccinated in Wisconsin, you can visit the Wisconsin Immunization Registry to get details.
Rural Safety
Protect and improve the health and safety of rural residents through prevention, education, community partnership, and access to essential public health services.
Environmental Health
Protecting people from health risks in their surroundings, such as unsafe food, water, housing, sanitation, and other environmental hazards.
